Bayside History Museum – Employed but not Equal

History

Employed, but not Equal exhibit is dedicated to the African American community during segregation.  During segregation, African Americans were not allowed as patrons in the various establishments that served white visitors who frequented the bayside communities.  BUT, that community was the primary workforce in North & Chesapeake Towns.  These businesses would have been hard pressed to survive without that workforce.
