Tamika Tremaglio

Former Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association

Tamika Tremaglic a Black, female, Catholic was named head of the NBA players’ union.

On September 22, 2021, Tamika Tremaglio, a St. Mary’s County native, was selected by the players of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) to be its Executive Director. Immediately upon her selection, the NBPA released a press release in which its President stated, “Tamika has been by our side for many years, advising us on the best practices and policies needed for our organization to operate more like a successful business… Ms. Tremaglio’s well-rounded experience in collective bargaining, staff management, revenue creation, wealth preservation and culture building, undoubtedly will put our players in the best position to succeed.”

During an interview with the NBPA, Ms. Tremaglio stated, “love puzzles and problem solving.” She went on to say she was raised by a family of entrepreneurs and has always dealt with numbers and felt that the Players Union would be a great opportunity for channeling her legal as well as her financial expertise. In January 2022, Ms. Tremaglio officially began as Executive Director of the NBPA. She said of her position, “I’ve broken barriers, challenged misperceptions, and much like the professional athletes, I’ve supported over the years, I have defied the odds.”

Prior to holding this position, Ms. Tremaglio was a Managing Principal at Deloitte LLP for the Greater Washington Area and her work included over 15 years of service to a number of players associations. One of her many accomplishments while at Deloitte was her progression to Managing Director within seven years.

Ms. Tremaglio received her BA from Mount St. Mary’s University, her JD from the University of Maryland School of Law, and her MBA from the University of Baltimore.She is married to Gregory Tremaglio and has two sons.
