The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab at Jefferson Patterson Park Museum is home to Maryland’s and some federal archaeological collections. This facility has over 10 million artifacts dating the full span of human history in Maryland. The lab also contains one of the nation’s largest archaeological conservation labs for the treatment of archaeological metal and organic artifacts. Includes Southern Maryland Regional Files – Located in the Lab, these files contain information on specific people and places important to Southern Maryland’s history.
